DepEd Sec. Briones, ginawaran ng Lifetime Contributor Award sa 12th Asia CEO Awards

Ginawaran si Education Sec. Leonor Briones ng Lifetime Contributor Award for the public sector sa ginanap na 12th Asia CEO Awards nitong Martes (Okt. 12).

Ito ay para sa kanyang natatanging kontribusyon sa papapaunlad ng bansa at pagtugon sa mga hamon sa pangunahing edukasyon.

“On behalf of the executives of the public sector who spend their lives serving, giving service to our people, and sacrificing, I humbly accept this award,” ani Briones.

“I would like to thank the Asia CEO Awards for this honor, for recognizing the complementarity between and among the public sector and private sector executive leadership,” dagdag niya.

Ang Lifetime Contributor Award ang pinakamataas na karangalan sa ASIA CEO Awards, na kumikilala sa mga pinuno at tagapagtaguyod sa bansa para sa kanilang mga natatanging tagumpay at kontribusyon sa bansa.

Ayon sa Puno ng Edukasyon, ikinagagalak niya na ang pribado at pampublikong sektor ay nagkaisa sa isang adhikain sa pagsisilbi sa bansa.

“We used to think of each other separately because we thought we had different goals, but we now see a congruence, a convergence in the meeting of our common goals, especially at this time of the pandemic. There is a recognition that executive leadership, wherever it is in the public sector or private sector, serves the country, serves the Filipino, and in the case of education, serves the learners and the children,” aniya.

Ang Asia CEO Awards ay naglalayong itaguyod ang kahusayan sa pamumuno at pagtutulungan sa loob ng mga organisasyon at pagpapakita ng nakamit ng mga Pilipino sa larangan ng negosyo sa business leaders ng mundo.

P4-B, hirit ng DepEd para sa allowance ng mga estudyante at titser

Nagplano ang Department of Education (DepEd) nitong Huwebes na magbibigay sila ng “connectivity allowance” sa susunod na taon para sa mga pampublikong guro at mga mag-aaral sa senior high school.

Humiling si Secretary Leonor Briones ng P4 bilyon mula sa Department of Budget and Management, ang P3.6 bilyon ay gagamitin sa load allowance ng 3.2 milyon senior high school students at 900,000 para sa mga guro.

Makatatanggap ng P450 load allowance ang mga guro habang P250 sa loob ng 3 buwan ang mga senior high school.

“We recognize the importance of load allowance for our learners and teachers to deliver quality education despite these challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” sabi ni Briones.

Ayon pa kay Briones, ang natitirang P400 milyon ay gagamitin sa pag-print at pag-deliver ng mga self-learning modules, paggawa ng mga materyales para sa DepEd’s online at broadcast platform at pagtatatag ng 2,000 radio transmitters.

Patuloy namang naghahanap ng paraan ang DepEd para masuportahan ang distance learning sa pamamagitan ng pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga telecommunication companies sa bansa.

Bago nito, iba’t ibang grupo ang nanawagan sa DepEd na magbigay ng load allowance para sa mga estudyante at guro dahil malaki na ang nagagastos ng mga ito para sa online class.
