Pumanaw na ang beteranong aktor na si Tony Ferrer sa edad na 86 ngayong Sabado, ayon sa Instagram post na kanyang anak na si Mutya Laxa-Buensuceso.

Post ng kanyang anak, “On 23 January 2021, our beloved father, friend, and Philippine movie industry treasure ANTONIO D. LAXA popularly known as TONY FERRER joined our Creator quietly in his sleep and in the comfort of his home. He was 86 years old.”

Dagdag pa ni Buensuceso, “Following his last wishes, there will be no public viewing of his remains. In lieu of flowers and cards, an online mass and memorial shall be announced to family, relatives and friends shortly.”

Si Ferrer ay naging aktor, film director at producer at nakilala siya sa kanyang pagganap bilang si Tony Falcon, Agent X-44 ng “Sabotage” (1966) sa direksiyon ni Eddie Garcia kung saan binansagan siya bilang James Bond ng Pilipinas.

13 patay, 4 sugatan sa engkuwentro sa Maguindanao

Patay ang 12 miyembro ng heavily-armed gang at isang pulis at apat ang sugatan sa isinagawang Maguindanao operation ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG-BAR) sa Sultan Kudarat ngayong Sabado nang umaga.

Tinatayang nagsimula ang engkuwentro kaninang 3:00 AM at natapos nang 9:30 AM at kabilang sa mga nasawi ay ang dating chairman ng Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat na si Pendatun Talusan at 11 tauhan niya.

Maghahain dapat ng arrest warrant ang mga miyembro ng CIDG-BAR laban kay Talusan at sa kanyang mga tao dahil sa kasong multiple homicide, frustrated murder at vehicle theft na nauwi sa engkuwentro matapos magpaputok ang mga suspek.

Pahayag ni Brig. Gen. Samuel Rodriguez, director of PRO-BAR, “They were to be served with warrants for their arrest peacefully but they provoked an encounter.”

Samantala, kinilala ang pulis na nasawi na si Police Staff Sgt. Elenel Pido at apat na miyembro rin ng SAF ang sugatan sa insidente.

Pumanaw na ang baseball legend at longtime home run king na si Hank Aaron noong Biyernes nang umaga sa edad na 86. Pahayag ni Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, "Hank Aaron is near the top of everyone's list of all-time great players.

"His monumental achievements as a player were surpassed only by his dignity and integrity as a person. Hank symbolized the very best of our game, and his all-around excellence provided Americans and fans across the world with an example to which to aspire. "His career demonstrates that a person who goes to work with humility every day can hammer his way into history — and find a way to shine like no other."

Hindi malinaw ang sanhi ng pagkamatay ni Aaron, ngunit ayon sa kanyang team na Atlanta Braves, "(He) passed away in his sleep." Saad ni Braves Chairman Terry McGuirk, "We are absolutely devastated by the passing of our beloved Hank. "He was a beacon for our organization first as a player, then with player development, and always with our community efforts. His incredible talent and resolve helped him achieve the highest accomplishments, yet he never lost his humble nature. Natapos ni Aaron ang kanyang 23-year career kung saan nagawa niya ang 755 home runs. Itinanghal din bilang 25-time All-Star at 1957 National League MVP si Aaron at nakamit din niya ang 3 Gold Gloves at nananatiling all-time record holder ng RBIs (2,297) at total bases (6,856).
