Inalis na ng World Boxing Association (WBA) ang Welterweight “Super” Welterweight Champion title ni Manny Pacquiao matapos ideklarang “champion in recess” ang senador.

Pahayag ng WBA, "Filipino Manny Pacquiao has been named Champion in Recess by the World Boxing Association (WBA) in a resolution issued by the Championships Committee, while Cuban Yordenis Ugas was promoted to Welterweight Super Champion.

"Rule C.22-24 states that when a champion is unable to defend the belt for medical, legal or other reasons beyond his control, he may be named champion in recess."

Napanalunan ni Pacquiao ang "super" title noong July 2019 matapos pabagsakin si American Keith Thurman.

Samantala, todo-pasasalamat naman si Ugas sa naturang balita.

Aniya sa kanyang tweet, “Thank God, my agent, my team, family and fans today is a great day for me. Thanks to the WBA for raising me to Super Champion and doing what is best for Sport. “Manny Pacquiao is a legend and he will always be champion, his intention was Mcgregor and now Ryan, but you cannot... behind your history, hijack a championship. This gives fans a chance to see a great unification fight at 147 lbs.

"I don't want this position for easy fights. My team has my consent for my next fight to fight Pacquiao if he wants to show who he is the true WBA champion or another of the champions for a great unification fight.

“I am a warrior committed to his career and to his fans, who have fought and earned every penny and every opportunity. Thank you all and I can't wait to announce what's next. I am grateful and very excited.”

Aniya pa, “Pacquiao took Thurman belt off. He had the opportunity of him. He was not going to give me the opportunity, nor did he want unification. It's the difference. My next fight I want unification. Looks like I'll have the fight that I've been chasing for years. Do not hate me. Congrats me.”

Nagsalita na si Sen. Manny Pacquiao patungkol sa pagbatikos ng ilang netizens sa kumalat na mga litrato sa selebrasyon ng kanyang ika-42 kaarawan kung saan makikitang walang social distancing at walang suot na face mask ang mga bisita.

Ayon kay Pacquiao, nasa 50 lamang ang kanyang bisita at ginanap umano ang kanyang birthday sa venue kung saan kasya ang 300 katao. Bukod pa rito, bago umano dumalo ang kanyang mga bisita ay sumailalim muna ang mga ito sa PCR (polymerase chain reaction).

Aniya, "'Di po kami nagpabaya du'n. Alam po namin na magkakaroon ng issue na ganyan."

Naging maingat din umano sila dahil dumalo rin ang kanyang mga anak.

Dagdag pa nito, maingat silang nag-celebrate at simple lamang ang naging pagtitipon. Sabi pa ni Pacquiao, mag-focus na lang umano ang lahat sa pamamahagi nito ng relief goods at pera sa kanyang mga kababayan.

Hindi na umano lalaban pa sa kabuuan ng taon si eight-division World champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao dahil sa patuloy na pagtutok nito sa kanyang seryosong trabaho sa Senado.
