Inaresto ng military ang Myanmar leader na si Aung San Suu Kyi at ang iba pang senior figures ng kanyang ruling party na National League for Democracy (NLD) ngayong Lunes.
Pahayag ni Myo Nyunt, spokesman ng NLD, "We heard the President (Win Myint) and State Counsellor (Aung San Suu Kyi) have been detained in Naypyidaw... we heard they were taken by the military.
"With the situation we see happening now, we have to assume that the military is staging a coup."
Inaresto si Suu Kyi kaugnay ng umano’y dayaan sa eleksiyon noong Nobyembre nang manalo ang NLD party na naging dahilan ng pag-igting ng tensiyon sa pagitan ng civilian government at military.
Samantala, panawagan ni Myo Nyunt sa publiko, "I want to tell our people not to respond rashly and I want them to act according to the law.”
