GSIS, MMDA Partner to Boost Traffic Management and Road Safety

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) signed an agreement on December 18 to extend MMDA’s use of GSIS properties for critical urban traffic solutions.

The term sheet, signed by GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso, MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes, and MMDA General Manager Procopio Lipana as witness, highlights the two agencies'  collaboration to optimize government resources and deliver direct public benefits. Under the agreement, the Julia Vargas site will continue to serve as the home of the MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy, promoting road safety through proper rider education. The site will also provide temporary facilities for MMDA personnel affected by ongoing office construction, ensuring seamless operations.

Meanwhile, the GSIS Tumana property in Marikina will be transformed into a strategic hub supporting MMDA’s traffic management efforts, including vehicle impounding and traffic enforcement activities.

“In 2015, what began as a simple property arrangement between GSIS and MMDA has now evolved into a powerful example of what government agencies can achieve when they work in true partnership,” Veloso said. “Today, we are not just signing agreements – we are building a blueprint for more responsive, efficient urban governance.”

Veloso emphasized that the partnership aligns with the administration’s whole-of-government approach, where agencies collaborate to maximize resources and deliver meaningful results. “Kapag nagkakapit-bisig ang mga ahensya, tayo ay mas malakas,” he added.

With major infrastructure projects like the Metro Manila Subway and Quezon City Integrated Transport Hub on the horizon, Veloso noted that this collaboration serves as a template for smarter, more efficient urban development.

The ceremonial signing, attended by GSIS executives, MMDA leadership, and employees, highlighted the importance of inter-agency partnerships in addressing Metro Manila’s growing urban challenges.

"This is about reimagining how government can work smarter and have a greater impact in serving the public interest," Veloso concluded.

Sandamakmak ang negatibong reaksiyon kay Goma at tinawag pa siyang “sobrang entitled” ng karamihan. Rumesbak naman ang aktor-pulitiko at nagpaliwanag na opinyon niya at saloobin ng mga sandaling iyon ang kanyang ‘rant’ hinggil sa paggamit ng bus lane kapag oras ng matinding traffic. 

Ang nakakatuwa sa senaryong ito, ayon sa aming mga nakausap, ang mga ahensiyang involved sa isyu gaya ng MMDA at iba pa ay ikinonsidera ang suhestiyon ng mambabatas mula sa Leyte.

‘Kalokah, pero bakit pa siya nagpapainterbyu at nag-artista kung sa mga socmed posts pala niya ay nakukuwestiyon ang pagka-babae niya? 

Hmmm…. Ano pa kaya ang kasunod na kabanata sa dramang ito ni Kyline na gusto yatang magkaroon ng image bilang “bad girl gone wild” ng bagong henerasyon?

HINDI naman masyadong pinatulan ng showbiz ang ginawang pagre-resign ni vlogger MJ Cayabyab bilang isa sa mga co-hosts sa Wil to Win (WTW) ni Willie Revillame. 

Although, kalat na kalat na ang mga tsika sa kakaibang sistema ni Willie sa pagpapatakbo ng show kasama na ang madalas nitong pagiging personal sa mga kasama, wala namang naglalakas-loob na diretsuhin ito o tawagin ang atensiyon nito para maikorek kung sakali. 

Kahit ang sinasabing “pangingialam” nito sa direktor ng show na si Randy Santiago, na matalik niyang kaibigan ay wala ring pumatol dahil tanggap na nga ng lahat ang tila “one man show” rule ng host. 

At ‘yung tsismis na mas marami pang aalis na staff at hosts ay hindi na rin bago dahil sabi nga namin, hangga’t si Willie Revillame ang boss at prodyuser ng show, lahat ng mga nandiyan ay “tauhan” lang niya. May aalis, may papalit.

Chavit Singson, itinaas sa P200K ang reward sa MMDA enforcers

Itinaas ni Luis "Chavit" Singson nitong Lunes ang kanyang reward para sa mga tauhan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na sumita sa kanyang convoy dahil sa maling paggamit ng EDSA busway.

Bumisita si Singson sa opisina ng MMDA sa Pasig City upang iabot ang reward.

"Nakita ninyo yung sinabi ko sa nag-interview na magbibigay ako ng P100,000 na papremyo sa mga nanghuli, at dahil ilang araw na nangyari, gagawin kong P200,000 ang ibibigay ko,” aniya sa Facebook post.

“This prize was properly received by the accounting and made with receipt. This cash prize could also be used as a support and improvement to the system of MMDA,” pahayag ni Singson.

Noong Abril 8, nakatanggap ng violation ticket mula sa MMDA ang convoy ni Singson matapos mahuli na gumagamit ng EDSA Busway.
