Magsisimula na ang DITO Telecommunity Corporation bilang pangatlong telecommunication provider sa bansa ngayong darating na ika-8 ng Marso sa mahigit labing-pitong bayan at munisipalidad ng Visayas at Mindanao.

Base sa unang technical audit na isinagawa ng gobyerno, pumasa ang DITO Telecom matapos makapagtala ng minimum average broadband speed na 85.9 Mbps para sa 4G at 507.5 Mbps naman para sa 5G.

Paliwanag ng DITO chief administrative officer na si Adel Tamano sa isang virtual press conference noong Martes, Pebrero 23, “It’s a phased launch. We are going to first start in Mindanao. There’s a sentimental reason for that, if you recall before DITO became DITO, we were the Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company (MISLATEL). It was actually set up to serve the underserved areas in Mindanao. We thought it fitting to start there.”

Kasabay nu’n ay nang ihayag ang ‘interconnection deal’ sa pagitan ng DITO at PLDT na may layuning makapagpatayo ng transmission facility na magsisilbing point of interconnection para sa mga konsumer nila.

“Being chosen as the country’s third player, DITO knew from day 1 that in order for us to deliver our commitment to the Filipino, we needed to work hand-in-hand with the pioneers of the telco industry like PLDT. I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone in making the interconnection agreement between DITO and PLDT possible,” pahayag naman ni DITO Telecommunity Chairman and CEO Dennis Uy.

Sisimulan na rin ng DITO ang pagbebenta ng sim cards at ang mga sumusunod na numero ay ang magiging prefixes digits ng kanilang subscribers: 0991, 0992, 0993, 0994, 0898, 089, 0896, at 0895.

Direktor ng Century Properties, kinasuhan ng Estafa, nag-resign

Inanunsiyo ng property developer na Century Properties Group, Incorporation noong Lunes, Pebrero 22 ang pagre-resign ni Director Jose Roberto “Robbie” Antonio, anak ni former US Ambassador Jose E.B. Antonio, upang mapagtuunan ng pansin ang isinampa sa kanyang Syndicated Estafa ng siyam na contractors at suppliers ng Revolution Precrafted Properties Philippines, Inc..

“I know I am making the correct decision to step down from my position in CPG as I will leave it under the very capable leadership of the board and the professional expertise of its senior management team. This will also allow me to focus on addressing the pressing issues in Revolution and its allied businesses,” aniya.

Sa paunang ulat ay pumunta noong ika-18 ng Pebrero sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang siyam bilang representative ng mahigit 300 na negosyanteng naloko diumano ni Antonio. Anila, pinagbayad sila ng 10% para ma-close ang deal at makuha ang kontrata, ngunit hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin bumabalik ang mga ipinuhunan nila.

Iginiit naman ni Antonio na naapektuhan ng pandemya ang Revolution Precrafted kaya hindi pa nakakabangon ang kumpanya. “The company is ready to settle legitimate obligations, which have fallen due and has no intention to renege on these legitimate contractual claims… The pandemic has activated force majeure stipulations in our contracts and has caused issues with our business transactions as it did with other industries.”

Sa ngayon ay bakante pa ang posisyon ni Antonio at humahanap na ang Century Properties Group Inc. ng magiging kapalit niya.

Batay naman sa Philippine Stock Exchange, bumaba sa 2.41% at P0.405 ang halaga ng shares ng kumpanya nitong Lunes.

Mananatiling nakakulong si Senator Leila De Lima sa pagbasura ng Korte Suprema sa inihain nilang demurrer at motion to bail sa kabila ng pagpapawalang-sala ng Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court sa isa sa 3 niyang kaso na may kinalaman sa ilegal na droga.

Paliwanag ni Secretary Menardo Guevarra, “In denying Senator De Lima’s demurrer to evidence, the trial court concluded that, unless rebutted, the prosecution’s evidence is sufficient to convict the accused. In denying the senator’s petition for bail, the trial court found that the evidence against the accused is strong. The prima facie of guilt, the outcome appears inevitable.”

Idinagdag pa ni Guevarra ang ginawang pagtestigo ni Joel Capones hinggil sa nakita nito umano ang drug lord na si Jaybee Sebastian na iniabot ang P1.4 milyong halaga ng drug money kay De Lima noong Marso, 2014 sa loob ng Bahay na Bato sa New Bilibid Prison bilang “quota payment” ng ibinebenta nitong shabu.

Ngayong darating na Pebrero 23, 2021 ay muling isasalang si Capones sa prosecution.
