Utos ni P-Du30, malinaw.. Pagsusuot ng face mask, tuloy — Malacañang

Ipinahayag ng Malacañang ngayong Martes na ‘malinaw’ ang utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa publiko na ‘ipagpatuloy ang pagsusuot ng face masks’, matapos na bumuo ang lalawigan ng Cebu ng ibang polisiya kaugnay dito.

Noong nakaraang linggo, ginawa ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia na ang paggamit ng anti-COVID masks ay optional na sa mga well-ventilated at open spaces. Ito ay sa kabila ng direktiba ng gobyerno na pagsusuot ng face masks sa lahat ng pampublikong lugar.

“The Chief Executive’s directive is clear: Continue wearing face masks,” giit ni acting Presidential Spokesperson Martin Andanar sa isang statement.

Ayon kay Andanar, suportado ng Malacañang ang legal na opinyon ni Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra na ang resolution ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) hinggil sa mandatong pagsusuot ng face masks aniya, “shall prevail over the executive orders by local government units, including the one issued by the provincial government of Cebu.”

Nitong Lunes, sinabi naman ni Guevarra, “the IATF resolution is incorporated in and/or enabled by executive orders issued by the President, who has supervision over local governments.”

Dagdag ni Guevarra, ang IATF ay binubuo ng mga Cabinet secretaries na silang tinatawag na alter egos ng Pangulo.

Ayon pa kay Andanar, inatasan na rin ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na anito, “to implement the existing IATF resolution on wearing of face masks accordingly.”

Una nang tumangging kilalanin ng DILG ang face mask policy ng Cebu habang nagbabala ang ahensiya sa mga lalabag sa mga health protocols na posibleng sila ay hulihin.

Naghanda si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng isang thanksgiving dinner sa Malacañang para sa mga miyembro ng kanyang gabinete nitong Lunes ng gabi, isang buwan bago siya bumaba sa puwesto.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag, ang dinner ay sponsored ng Pangulo katuwang ang mga asawa ng mga Cabinet members, habang ang kapulungan ay hinarana naman ng Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

“We had dinner. It was a light moment, the President rendered some songs, alongside Cabinet members,” pahayag ni Matibag sa mga reporters ngayong Martes, sa sidelines ng Day 2 ng Duterte Legacy Summit.

“It was a celebration. Nagpasalamat siya because for the last six years, a lot of sacrifices were made by Cabinet officials. The achievements of the administration were recognized, and the President also thanked the spouses for allowing the Cabinet members to serve the public,” saad pa ni Matibag.

Hindi naman masabi ni Matibag kung ito na ang huling pagkakataon na makikipagpulong si Pangulo Duterte sa kanyang mga Cabinet members. “There have been a lot of people requesting an audience with him,” sabi ni Matibag.

“We are also looking at [a gathering] with winning candidates of PDP-Laban, and we are hoping it would be accommodated,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Nai-share naman ni Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III sa Facebook ang ilang larawan at isang video ni Pangulong Duterte na nagho-host sa thanksgiving dinner at kumanta pa ng awiting “Ikaw”.

Sa caption ni De Vera na nai-post, sa larawan ni Pangulong Duterte kasama ang mga Cabinet members ay, “One last fist pump for the Duterte administration.” Bukod sa miyembro ng mga gabinete, naroon din sa event si dating Special Assistant to the President at Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.

Sa kabila ng pangamba sa posibleng surge ng COVID-19 infections matapos ang May 9 elections, mananatili sa Alert Level 1 classification ang National Capital Region (NCR) hanggang Mayo 15, 2022, ayon sa Malacañang.

Sa isang statement, batay na rin sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), sinabi ni acting Presidential Spokesperson Martin Andanar na isasailalim din sa Alert Level 1 mula Mayo 1 hanggang 15 ang mga sumusunod na lugar:
