Ipinahayag ng Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), ang private operator ng Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), na natapos na nila ang pag-upgrade ng signaling system ng naturang railway system.
Sa isang statement na inilabas ng LRMC, sinabi nito na ang completion ng pag-upgrade ng signaling system ng LRT1 sa Alstom ay naging posible matapos ang sunud-sunod na test runs at trial runs noong Nobyembre 28, 2021, Enero 23, 2022, at Enero 30, 2022.
Ayon sa kumpanya, nag-adopt ang LRT-1 ng tinatawag na advanced communication at modernong technolohiya upang patuloy na kontrolin at i-monitor ang operasyon ng kanilang mga tren.
“The upgrading of signaling system will improve capacity and performance across the line, enabling more trains with better connections and greater reliability,” pahayag ng LRMC.
Gayundin, sinabi ng kumpanya na ang bagong signaling system sa kahabaan ng umiiral nang linya – ang Baclaran hanggang Balintawak Station – ang magpa-facilitate ng testing, commissioning, at operasyon para sa revenue service ng ikaapat na henerasyon nang train sets, kung saan target na simulan ito sa kalagitnaan ng 2022.
“We are happy to inform you that we have reached another milestone at LRMC as we have successfully migrated to the new Alstom signaling system. We have carefully planned these works to also improve the total traffic control system of LRT-1 while the operation was suspended on three Sundays,” sabi ni LRMC chief operating officer Enrico Benipayo.
“We would like to thank our passengers for their understanding and patience as this initiative will surely result to a more modern and reliable system at LRT-1,” ani pa ni Benipayo.
