VP Sara, nag-alay ng prayers sa agarang paggaling ni P-BBM

Nag-alay ng panalangin si Vice President Sara Duterte para sa mabilis na paggaling ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19.

Naiulat na si Pangulong Marcos ay nagpapagaling na sa bahagyang lagnat o sinat at naka-isolate ng pitong araw matapos na magpositibo sa antigen test.

“I offer my earnest prayers for the fast recovery of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. who tested positive for COVID-19,” sabi ni VP Sara.

“May God continue to bless him with good health as he leads the country. Daghang salamat,” dagdag niya.

Una nang sinabi ni Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na si Pangulong Marcos ay mag-a-isolate ng pitong araw at nasa doktor na ng Pangulo ang desisyon kung sasailalim pa ito sa confirmatory RT-PCR test.

“After that, if his symptoms have been resolved already, he may be able to get back to work and have his face-to-face activities,” saad ni Vergeire.

Si Pangulong Marcos ay dati nang nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19.

Tinamaan siya ng viral disease noong Marso 2020 matapos na mag-travel mula sa Europe. Nang panahong iyon, ayon sa kampo ng Pangulo, bumisita siya sa isang ospital dahil sa nagkaroon siya ng problema sa paghinga.

Sa kanyang inaugural speech noong Hunyo 30, nabanggit ni Pangulong Marcos ang kanyang naging karanasan sa COVID-19.

“I was among the first to get COVID; it was not a walk in the park,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Sa paggunita ng Eid’l Adha, patuloy ang panawagan ni Pangulo Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa mga Pilipino ng pagkakaisa at talikuran na ang mga pagkakaiba-iba, habang ang kanyang mensahe para sa lahat, “break the chains of divisiveness.”

Ngayong Sabado, Hulyo 9, idineklara ito ni Pangulong Marcos bilang isang regular holiday na aniya, ang Eid’l Adha ay isa sa dalawang pinakadakilang kapistahan ng Islam.

“Let us therefore offer ourselves for the sake of others and take to heart the lessons we learn so that we may be rewarded spiritually and become worthy recipients of Allah’s manifold blessings and protection,” ani P-BBM sa kanyang mensahe.

“As we join hands towards achieving our shared goals, I hope that we will transcend our differences, break the chains of divisiveness, and emerge strong as one nation,” pahayag pa ng Pangulo.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Eid’l Adha, ang mga Muslim ay nagkakatay ng mga tupa, kambing, baka at camel upang gunitain ang ginawa ni Propeta Ibrahim na handang isakripisyo ang kanyang anak para sumunod sa utos ni Allah.

Inalala naman ng Pangulo ang pagsasakripisyo ni Propeta Ibrahim at inihalintulad ito sa bawat isa sa atin, “Ibrahim offered his son in obedience to Allah… in entrusting ourselves and surrendering our worries to Supreme Authority, all our hearts’ desires for the greater good will be heard and granted.”

“This day reminds us that, with deep faith and loyalty to our virtues, we can take risks for hefty costs, even if it means losing those whom we love and letting go of many things that matter to us,” saad ng Punong Ehekutibo.

Sinabi naman ng Pangulo na sa pagsisimula ng kanyang administrasyon, dapat na maging handa ang bansa sa aniya, “to go beyond our comfort zones as we walk the path we have willingly chosen.”

“The journey ahead of us will not be easy, but if we fight for what is right and predicate our every action on our love for our fellowmen and women, our people will surely benefit from the results of our individual choices,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Dating CBCP president Lagdameo, pumanaw na

Pumanaw na ang dating presidente ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) na si Archbishop Emeritus Jaro Angel Lagdameo ngayong Biyernes, Hulyo 8, sa edad na 81.

Sa isang social media post, kinumpirma ng Archdiocese ng Jaro, Iloilo, ang pagpanaw ng kanilang retired prelate.

“Archbishop Angel Lagdameo returned to our Creator just this 8:30 AM at the age of 81. Let us include him in our prayers and masses,” sabi ng diocese.

Nagsilbi si Lagdameo bilang CBCP president mula Disyembre 2005 hanggang Disyembre 2009. Bago rito, siya ay CBCP vice president para sa dalawang termino ng apat na taon.

Ang archbishop ay dati ring chairman ng Office of Laity of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences.

Sa CBCP, nagsilbi naman siyang chairman ng Episcopal Commission on the Laity mula 1990 hanggang 2000.

Na-ordained bilang priest si Lagdameo para sa Diocese of Lucena noong Disyembre 19, 1964. Habang na-appoint na auxiliary bishop ng Cebu noong Hunyo 1980.

Noong Enero 1986, na-designate siya bilang coadjutor bishop ng Dumaguete, at naging bishop ng diocese noong Mayo 1989.

Naging archbishop ng Jaro si Lagdameo noong Marso 11, 2000.

Noong 2018, tinanggap naman ni Pope Francis ang resignation ni Lagdameo sa edad na 77.
