Iloilo City tinanggal na ang RT-PCR test at quarantine requirement sa mga fully vaxxed na turista

Tinanggal na ng Iloilo City government nitong Miyerkules ang negative RT-PCR test at quarantine requirements para sa mga fully vaccinated na bibisita sa lugar.

“To prevent another lockdown and forcible temporary closure of businesses in the city, the COVID Team uniformly requires no more swab testing upon arrival for fully vaccinated individuals,” ani Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas sa Executive Order No. 15.

Gayunman, nilinaw ni Treñas na required pa rin na mag-isolate ang mga turistang makararamdam ng sintomas ng COVID-19.

“They shall submit themselves to NPS/OPS RT-PCR testing conducted by the USWAG Iloilo Molecular Laboratory at the Covered Gym, Lapaz Plaza,” ani Treñas.

Samantala, ang quarantine-upon-arrival at swab ay required pa rin para sa mga partially vaccinated at unvaccinated travelers.

“In the event the RT-PCR result indicated a positive infection, the subject returning resident must strictly comply with instructions given by the local health authorities,” dagdag pa ng alkalde.

Dagdag pa rito, sinabi ng alkalde na ang mga said partially vaccinated at unvaccinated returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) na may travel history mula sa mga red list countries ay required na kumpletuhin ang 14-day quarantine mula sa date of arrival at kailangang sumailalim sa swab testing pagkaraan ng limang araw mula sa date of arrival.

“This Executive Order shall take effect immediately until 11:59 p.m. of February 15, 2022, or until the said period is extended or lifted earlier per latest issuance of the IATF on the quarantine classification of Iloilo City,” ayon pa sa executive order ni Treñas.

Isinailalim sa lockdown ang isang istasyon ng pulisya matapos na magpositibo ang 13 police officers sa COVID-19 sa Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Ang Iloilo City Police Station 6 ng nasabing lalawigan ay ini-lockdown simula kahapon, Martes, upang magbigay-daan sa disinfection sa gusali nito. Hindi naman binanggit ng mga awtoridad kung gaano katagal ipatutupad ang lockdown ng istasyon.

Ayon kay Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Director Police Col. Uldarico Garbanzos, unang sumailalim sa swab test ang mga pulis na nakasalamuha ng kabarong nasawi dahil sa cardiac arrest na positibo rin sa COVID-19 nitong Hunyo 25. Apat sa mga pulis ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 matapos lumabas ang resulta ng kanilang RT-PCR test.

Agad namang isinailalim sa swab test ang naging close contacts ng apat at sa naging resulta nitong Hulyo 6, siyam pang mga pulis ang nagpositibo rin sa COVID-19.

Gayunman, agad na ipinasara ng ICPO ang gusali ng Iloilo City Police Station 6 kahapon. Dinala na sa isang quarantine facility ng lugar ang 12 pulis na pawang mga asymptomatic habang nasa ospital ang isang pulis matapos makitaan ng sintomas ng sakit.

Isinailalim naman sa strict quarantine ang iba pang miyembro ng pulisya ng naturang istasyon, kabilang na rito ang kanilang hepe. Dinagdagan din ng mga operatiba ang ICPO para sa patuloy na operasyon kahit naka-lockdown ang naturang istasyon ng pulisya.

Umapela ang Iloilo City mayor sa national government na damihan ang suplay ng COVID-19 vaccine dahil sa tumataas na kaso ng Coronavirus sa naturang lugar at napupuno na rin ang mga ospital.

Saad ni Mayor Jerry Trenas sa teleradyo interview, "Ang mga ospital, punuan na, mga ICU beds, puno na rin, even the emergency rooms are filled up because patients are waiting to be accommodated in the room but the rooms are already full. As I have always said, we have to understand Iloilo City is a regional center and all referral hospitals are found here.”

Nangako naman umano sina Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez at Health Secretary Francisco Duque ng mas maraming bakuna ngayong linggo.

Saad pa ni Trenas, "Sinovac and some Pfizer. Hopefully they will come because we all know that the experience of developed countries — they were able to go back to at least normal when they started vaccinating people. You and I know we cannot be in quarantine forever. We all have to work.”

Aniya, 45,000 residente na ang nakatanggap ng unang dose ng bakuna at 9,000 naman ang nakakumpleto na. Target ng lokal na pamahalaan na mabakunahan ang 450,000 residente, ayon kay Trenas.

Aniya pa, "It is very important we continue to observe the minimum health protocols even if you are vaccinated. We have cases of fully-vaccinated persons who continue to be infected.”

Kahit tumataas ang kaso ng COVID-19, ayon kay Trenas ay hindi nila maisailalim sa strict lockdown o enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) ang lugar dahil sa kakulangan sa pondo.

Aniya, "Medyo mahirap because we were already MECQ (modified ECQ) for 4 weeks already.

People are already complaining, they have no jobs, they cannot feed their families. Iloilo City continues to procure rice, canned goods but we can only do so much.

"I know that cases are increasing but we really have to find the balance between economy and health. We cannot afford to give out support to everyone."
