Nilinaw ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na walang political discrimination o pamumulitika sa vaccination rollout ng COVID-19 sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, kaugnay sa isyung prayoridad lamang nito ang mga kapartido.
Aniya, "Scientifically, you can’t discriminate because you’re defeating the purpose of a mass vaccination. No one is safe until we are all safe. It does not make sense if you give priority to areas just because they are political supporters and ignore other areas because the nature of the virus is it does not discriminate against or for political allies or opponents."
Matatandaan namang mahigit 1,600 empleyado ng House of Representatives (HoR) na ang nabakunahan kontra COVID-19 at ilang pulitiko na rin mula sa iba’t ibang local government units (LGU) na nasa high-risk area ng COVID-19 ang napasama sa priority list.
Kabilang din sa isinusulong ng mga opisyal ay ang mas mabilis na vaccination rollout, kung saan inirerekomendang bakunahan na rin ang publiko kahit hindi pa prayoridad sa listahan.
Sa ngayon ay 4,495,375 indibidwal na ang nabakunahan kontra COVID-19. Kabilang dito ang mga healthcare workers, senior citizens at may comorbidities o nasa A1 hanggang A3 priority list.
Inaasahan namang susunod na ang rollout sa ilalim ng A4 at A5, kung saan kabilang ang economic frontliners at mga mahihirap.
Samantala, pinag-aaralan na ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang isinumiteng application para sa emergency use authorization ng Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines upang iturok sa edad 12 hanggang 15-anyos.
"Ang ating mga experts, in-evaluate. In fact, early this evening, I already got the recommendations of our experts and it's very favorable… Within the week, we will issue an amendment and we will be able to use it in children of 12 to 15 years old," sabi pa ni FDA Director General Eric Domingo.
