Naglabas ng babala ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ngayong Sabado sa publiko at sa mga healthcare professionals hinggil sa pagbili at pagkonsumo o paggamit ng mga hindi rehistradong produktong pagkain at food supplements sa mga pamilihan.
Sa limang magkakahiwalay na advisories na inisyu ng FDA, ang mga produktong hindi nagtataglay at walang Certificates of Product Registration ay ang mga sumusunod:

“Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the ‘Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009’, the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising or sponsorship of health products without the proper authorization is prohibited,” pahayag ng FDA.
Ayon pa sa ahensiya, walang katiyakan na ang mga naturang produkto ay ligtas at may kalidad dahil hindi nila ito nasuri.
“All concerned establishments are warned not to distribute, advertise, or sell the said violative food products until CPR are issued, otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued,” sabi pa ng FDA.
Paalala rin ng FDA sa mga establisimyento at sa publiko na i-check ang FDA registration number ng isang produkto sa pamamagitan ng FDA Verification Portal.
Hiniling din ng ahensiya sa mga law enforcement agency at local government units (LGUs) na siguruhing hindi ito maibebenta sa mga pamilihan, anila, “To ensure that these products are not sold or made available in the market or areas of jurisdiction.”
Gayundin, hinimok ng FDA ang Bureau of Customs na tiyaking mapipigilan ang pagpasok sa bansa ng mga unregistered imported products.
