Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., ang pagbuo ng isang inter-agency committee, na siyang may tungkuling tugunan ang inflation at palakasin ang ekonomiya ng bansa.
Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO), nilagdaan ni Marcos ang Executive Order No. 28 noong Mayo 26 kung saan magsisilbing Economic Development Group’s (EDG) advisory body ang Inter-Agency Committee on Inflation and Market Outlook (IAC-IMO) na layuning mapanatili ang inflation partikular sa pagkain at enerhiya base sa inflation target ng gobyerno.
Nakasaad sa EO ang pagreorganisa at pagpapalit ng pangalan ng Economic Development Cluster (EDC) sa EDG upang matiyak na ang pagsasama-sama ng mga programa, aktibidad, at mga prayoridad tungo sa patuloy na paglago ng ekonomiya ay nananatiling mahusay at epektibo.
"In view of the increasing prices of key commodities, particularly food and energy resources, the creation of an advisory body to the EDC, tasked to directly address inflation, will strengthen the EDC, and reinforce existing government initiatives aimed to improve the economy and the quality of life of the Filipino people,” base sa EO.
Nabatid na ang IAC-IMO ay bubuuin ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) secretary bilang chair; ang Finance secretary bilang co-chair; ang Budget secretary bilang vice-chair; at mga kalihim ng Agriculture, Energy, Science and Technology, Trade, and Interior bilang mga miyembro.
"Among the functions of the advisory body are to closely monitor the main drivers of inflation, particularly food, and energy, and their proximate sources and causes; assess the supply-demand situation for essential food commodities during the cropping period, allowing periodic updating as new information becomes available; assess the possible impact of natural and man-made shocks on the supply of key food commodities; and regularly monitor data necessary to assess food prices and the
supply and demand situation,” ayon pa sa PCO sa isang pahayag.
