Kahit pinalayas na ni P-Du30… Ilang barko ng China, nasa WPS pa rin

Pinabulaanan ng Malacañang na hindi pinansin ng China ang panawagan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na pagpapaalis sa mga Chinese vessels sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Noong Abril, iniulat ng task force na may mga namataang 220 Chinese militia vessels sa WPS.

Ayon naman kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, tinatayang aabot sa 201 barko ang umalis sa WPS matapos makipag-ugnayan si P-Duterte kay Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian.

Pahayag pa ni Roque sa kanyang press briefing, "Hindi po totoo na in-ignore ang ating Presidente… 201 fishing vessels ang umalis and all because of the message of the President and the warm relations we enjoy with China.

"Doon sa natitirang kaunti, we are still hoping aalis sila."

Sa nakaraang public speech ni P-Duterte, aniya ay malaki ang utang na loob ng Pilipinas sa China ngayong nakikibaka ang bansa laban sa COVID-19 pandemic ngunit aniya, ang territorial waters ng ‘Pinas ay "cannot be bargained."

Samantala, matatandaang kamakailan ay nagsampa na ng diplomatic protest ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) laban sa China dahil sa patuloy na presensiya ng mga Chinese vessels sa WPS.

DFA, nagprotesta na laban sa mga illegal na barko ng Chinese sa WPS

Dalawang diplomatic protests ang isinampa ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) laban sa China hinggil sa 160 Chinese vessels na palaging namamataan sa West Philippine Sea.

Ayon sa DFA, "The vessels were observed within the territorial sea of high tide features in the Kalayaan Island Group, in the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and in and around the territorial waters of Bajo de Masinloc."

Bukod sa 160 Chinese vessels, kabilang din sa sinampahan ng diplomatic protest ang lima pang Chinese Coast Guard vessels na may bow numbers: 3103, 3301, 3305, 5101 at 5203 na namataan sa teritoryo ng Pag-asa Island, Bajo de Masinloc at Ayungin Shoal.

Paliwanag pa ng DFA, “Through these protests, the DFA reminded China that Bajo de Masinloc, Pag-asa Islands, Panata, Parola, Kota Islands, Chigua and Burgos Reefs are integral parts of the Philippines over which it has sovereignty and jurisdiction. The Philippines exercises sovereign rights and jurisdiction over Julian Felipe Reef and Ayungin Shoal."

Matatandaang ipinatawag ng DFA kamakailan si Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian upang iutos na alisin nito ang mga illegal Chinese vessels na namamalagi sa teritoryo ng ‘Pinas at para mapag-usapan ang tungkol sa international law, kabilang ang 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

"The continued swarming and threatening presence of the Chinese vessels creates an atmosphere of instability and is a blatant disregard of the commitments by China to promote peace and stability in the region," sabi pa ng DFA.

Pagpapalayas sa mga barko ng China sa WPS, oks kay Hontiveros

Suportado ni Senator Risa Hontiveros ang pagpapatawag ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) kay Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian upang iutos na alisin nito ang mga illegal Chinese vessels na namamalagi sa Julian Felipe Reef na sakop ng West Philippine Sea.

Ayon sa pahayag ni Sen. Hontiveros ngayong Miyerkules, "I laud the Department of Foreign Affairs for summoning Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian and taking him to task with regard to the escalating tensions in the West Philippine Sea."

Dagdag pa niya, "I thank the DFA for stressing our 2016 Hague victory and for making it clear, directly to the Ambassador that China’s sweeping territorial claims are without legal basis."

Batay naman sa opinyon ng ilang eksperto, ang pagdagsa ng mga Chinese vessel sa West Philippine Sea ay paraan ng China upang ipitin si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para huwag na nitong ituloy ang relasyon ng 'Pinas sa Amerika.

Samantala, nilinaw naman ng Palasyo na walang isusukong teritoryo ang Pilipinas.
