Bistek, humingi ng halik sa supporter... Asal ng kandidato, 'cheap' at 'degrading' – Gabriela

Umalma ang isang mambabatas ng Gabriela Partylist sa paghingi ng halik ni UniTeam senatorial candidate Herbert Bautista sa babaeng supporter, kamakailan, sa isang campaign sortie ng partido.

Kita sa isang TikTok video na nagpapahalik si Bautista sa isang supporter na kapansin-pansin ang pagkailang at halatang hindi komportable ang babae sa hiling ng kandidato.

Ayon kay Gabriela Party-list Representative Arlene Brosas, hindi katanggap-tanggap ang naging kilos ng senatorial candidate dahil ‘cheap’ at ‘degrading’ ang ginawa nitong paggamit sa babaeng supporter para sa kanyang ‘macho image’.

Giit ng assistant minority leader, mali na gawing kasangkapan ang mga kababaihan para aliwin ang madla sa pangangampanya ng mga pulitiko.

Ani Brosas, “It’s about time that we address this rising trend of misogynist acts in the campaign trail — through guidelines that will prohibit lewd and degrading political campaigns and sorties. We hope the COMELEC will consider this in the future political exercise if not at the current period.”

Samantala, hinimok ni Brosas ang Commission on Elections (COMELEC) na maglabas ng karagdagang panuntunan na magpapataw ng parusa sa mga political rally na magsasagawa ng pangha-harass o pambabastos sa mga kababaihan, sang-ayon sa Republic Act 9710 o Magna Carta of Women and the Safe Spaces Act.

Paggamit ng copyrighted songs sa elections campaign, dapat may lisensiya — FILSCAP

Ipinaalala ng Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (FILSCAP) na ang mga elections campaigns na pinatutugtog sa publiko na mga copyrighted songs, ito man ay live o recorded, sa panahon ng campaign rallies o sorties ay nangangailangan ng license mula sa copyright owner.

Sa isang statement, binanggit ng FILSCAP ang tungkol sa Section 177.6 ng Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

“This would include the playing of background music before or during the event, and the playing of entertainment music (e.g., during a song or dance performance) as they are considered ‘public performance’ under Sec. 171.6 of the IP Code. This rule equally applies to local and foreign copyrighted songs,” batay sa statement ng grupo.

Ayon pa sa FILSCAP, ang tinatawag na public performance license ay iba sa modification o adaptation license, na kailangang i-secured kung ang mga lyrics ng isang copyrighted song ay binago.

“It is also different from the ‘reproduction license’ (also called mechanical/synchronization license) that needs to be secured if a copyrighted song is recorded (e.g., incorporation of a song in a campaign video) pursuant to Sec. 177.1 of the IP Code,” dagdag pa ng FILSCAP.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang FILSCAP ang tanging organisasyon na accredited ng Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines sa lisensiya, bukod sa iba pa, hinggil sa public performance sa bansa ng mga copyrighted local at foreign songs.

GIF ni Roque, ginamit sa Thailand sa kampanya vs COVID-19

Nagsalita na si Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque matapos ilabas at gamitin ng isang foreign publication ang kanyang mukha bilang GIF.

Ang Thai Enquirer ay isang online news portal na based sa Thailand ang nag-post nitong Disyembre 19, 2020 ng GIF ni Roque at may caption patungkol sa kampanya ng Thailand sa pagsusuot ng face mask, paghuhugas ng kamay at pagpapanatili ng social distancing sa panahon ng pandemya.

"It is encouraging that foreign media, particularly Thai Enquirer, has taken notice of the Philippine government's Minimum Public Health Standards Advocacy Campaign of wearing a face mask, washing of hands, and maintaining a physical distance, which is known locally as 'Mask, Hugas, Iwas'," sabi ni Roque.

Dagdag pa ni Roque, isa umanong magandang sign na nakaabot internationally ang kampanya ng Pilipinas sa pagpuksa sa COVID-19 dahil ito ay epektibo.

Samantala, matapos i-post ng Thai Enquirer ang GIF ni Roque, muli itong nag-post at sinabing hindi nila kilala si Roque. Ginamit lang umano nila ang GIF dahil si Roque umano ay “round and Asian.”
